Abu Dhabi today hosts 18th UAE Fitness Championship for People of Determination
ABU DHABI, 25th April, 2025 (WAM) – Abu Dhabi today hosted the 18th UAE Fitness Championship for People of Determination 2025.
The event was organised by the Emirates Autism Centre under the generous patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and under the theme “I Am an Athlete.”
More than 500 male and female athletes of determination are participating in the championship, representing 60 centres and schools that include students of determination across the country. These include 35 public schools, 11 private schools, 8 specialised centres, and 200 volunteers from various organisations supporting the event.
The opening ceremony was attended by Afra Mohammed Al Sabri, Director-General of the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, Sherif Issa, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the UAE; and José Antonio, Chargé d’Affaires of the United Mexican States.
